CineClash is a daily movie guessing game for Android, iOS and the web. This page explains what data the game collects, why, and how to delete it. Questions go to [email protected].
What we collect
- Account. An account identifier is created when you play as a guest. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the email address and name from that provider.
- Username. The username you choose. It appears on public leaderboards and in leagues.
- Gameplay. Your guesses, scores, streaks, hints used, game timestamps, cinema/region preference and league memberships.
- Product analytics. A small set of in-app events, described below.
- On your device only. Settings such as reminder time and onboarding state, stored locally and never uploaded.
Product analytics
To measure how many people come back and to improve the game, the app records in-app events such as finishing a daily puzzle, sharing a result, switching cinema edition or playing an arcade mode. Each event is linked to your account identifier and stored, together with the time, your platform (Android, iOS or web) and the app version, in our own Supabase database. Events hold simple values such as which edition or mode was played, never your guesses or anything you type.
- No third-party analytics service or SDK is used, and these events do not use advertising identifiers. (Rewarded ads in the mobile apps are separate, see below.)
- Events are not sold and are not shared with advertisers.
- Events are deleted together with your account when you delete it in the app.
Advertising (Android and iOS apps only)
You can choose to watch a rewarded ad for an extra play. These ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), IP address and ad-interaction data to deliver and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), you are asked for consent first, and you can change that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Account → Ad Privacy Choices. The web version shows no ads. See how Google uses data from partner apps.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data.
- We do not use your data to build advertising profiles ourselves.
- The app currently offers no in-app purchases and collects no payment data.
Who processes the data
- Supabase: database, authentication and image hosting for the game.
- Google: Google Sign-In and, in the mobile apps, AdMob.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple (iOS).
- Cloudflare: hosting for the web version.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated game data at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy & Account → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you can't access the app, see how to request deletion.
Children
CineClash is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to its processing. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
